There are a wide variety of Medicare Supplements, Medicare Advantage, and Part "D" Rx plans available. Some may be unique to the county you live in. It may be HMO, POS, PPO, or Private Fee for Service (PFFS). There are certain times in the year when you can switch from one plan to another. If you are under 65 and on Social Security Disability, you can qualify for Medicare plan options to cover all your insurance needs.

When you turn 65, you have all the options available to you, but you will need to have your Medicare card (A&B) handy.

Mutual of Omaha, Anthem, Aetna, Manhattan Life, CIGNA, GTL, UHC, and State Mutual are popular Medicare Supplement providers. Aetna, Humana, Blue Cross/Anthem, CIGNA-HealthSpring, SilverScript, Clover, and WellCare are popular MAPD and/or Part D choices depending on your county of residence. Longevity Insurance is also an option. This is basically a fixed, deferred annuity that delays the payout until sometime in the future with a lifetime guaranteed income rider and other features. Basically, you can consider it a personalized pension, and can be a good choice if you plan to beat the actuarial tables. They often come with "LTC" benefit doublers. It is usually poorly explained by many agents and advisors when you come for the free steak dinner at the seminar...so please be careful before you purchase these.  Carriers such as Athene, Atlantic Coast Life, Phoenix, Aviva, and others are popular.
